about
I was reading Margo Annand's "Art Of Sexual Ecstasy", Esther Perel's "Mating in Captivity" and rediscovering (again) Kate Bush's "Sensual World" when I sort of had and epiphany. That it is through the doorway/miracle of our senses that we truly know/feel we are alive. I know it's obvious, but it is so much so that I have taken it for granted for a large portion of my life. The 3 author/artists above have reminded me to think/feel/be otherwise.
I had written the music and lyrics (the chorus) for this piece when the idea of having Jo Beth sing and write the verses occurred to me (thank goodness), she so captured what I had in mind.
My favourite instrument to listen to is cello. The sound is earthy and sensual, Ben and I are members of JoBeth's band and so it was a no-brainer for me on who to ask.
I feel very honoured and grateful to have both of these friends/artists collaborate with me on this. It feels very much of serendipity in action.
lyrics
Over communicators
Under complicators
Nothing escapes the radar
Turn off your faders.
I'd almost forgotten
to Taste all
Embrace all
In Grace all.
Under developed
Sounds like it could be forever
The parameters shifted
The parameters shaped us.
I'd almost forgotten
To Taste All
Embrace all
In Grace all

Another stellar release from this long-lived ensemble. Though the King Crimson influence is obvious & that comparison unavoidable, these guys have made many great recordings that can't be categorized as 'mere copies'. The perfect balance of aggressive riffing and serene soundscapes. Stephen Roberts

Originally released as one track per week, Hebdomadal (which means weekly) is the complete collection of instrumental tracks showcasing Colin's bass playing. They run the gamut from mellow and relaxed to edgy and gritty. A great release from a truly underrated bassist. spectre1966
